Ways To Celebrate the Month of Love
It’s February, the Month of Love!
I don’t about you but you but I like to celebrate Valentine’s Day in the entirety of February. I know that might be a liiittle extra but what’s a girl to do with all this love to share, right!? (Right)
So because I’m that person, I wanted to share with you some ways that I plan on celebrating Love during this time of year!
daily mass + suppliment w/action
The Trinity is my Love and so what better way to spend time with Love than going to Adoration, preparing for & going to Confession & going to Mass :)
Supplementing this peace by doing something kind for others at home or volunteering your time somewhere where help is needed is also a wonderful way to continue living & spreading the love we receive from Christ through the Eucharist.
start something you’ve always wanted to do
Exactly that. What’s something that you’ve been wanting to do for yourself for a while now and just didn’t have the courage to start? Do it. This month, I’m planning on exploring new projects and social media platforms that I’ve always been hesitant to delve into but I’m just gonna go for it (again). Loving yourself is doing what brings you inner joy and peace and I’m inviting you to do that. Let’s take a leap of faith together!
Our furry (or not), scaley, feathery family members need some lovin’ too! If you’ve got pups, have a doggy play date with other furry friends! Or make them a special treat that you usually don’t give them! Buy a new toy or item for your beloved to make their lives just a little bit more comfortable and fun! Spending the day with our little buddies is a great way to bond and destress from the everyday madness that is life.
try new recipes & share it
With the Lenten season coming up, I recently decided to do something different and join a #nomeatmarch group! And because of this, I’ve been so excited to try different vegetarian and vegan meals! I’m not the best chef which - to me - calls for more practice and more time in the kitchen heat! This February, I’m going to try some new recipes and share my hopefully-not-so-dreadful creations with my loved ones and I think you should too!

start a new read
I don’t know about you but I absolutely love going to the bookstore and browsing for hours. I love looking through the comic section as much as I love to browse other fiction reads and self helps! Going to the bookstore/library has been one of my favorite past times (because shopping for your brain should never go out of style). Treat yourself to a new world or a new skill this month with a new read!
Here are some suggestions!
Fun, Self Help read: The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life by Mark Manson
Strongwilled + Faithfilled read: Girl Arise!: A Catholic Feminist’s Invitation to Live Boldly, Love Your Faith, and Change the World by Claire Swinarski
Girl Boss read: WorkParty: How to Create & Cultivate the Career of Your Dreams by Jaclyn Johnson
try a new wine / mix a new recipe
Even though I’m on a tight budget, I still make room for the little things. One of the things that I wanted to do this year was to try new wines every other week (what better excuse for a broke college graduate to make a trip to Whole Foods Market, right).
I feel like I’ve been tasting some differences in wine lately and I just wanted to explore that just a little more! I even invested in a wine book to learn more about wine before those movie nights!
On the otherhand, you can invite some friends for the usual game night and tastefully mix some new drinks! Games? Drinks? Definitely a win, win. ;)
I know some of these activities you may already do each month and I think that’s okay! Going back to the basics is never a bad thing :) It’s the little things that count!
Valentine’s or Galentine’s (Guylentine’s?) - however you celebrate the month of love, I hope you all have a great time surrounded by positivity!
